Traders using Investor's Business Daily need to track the 50 day moving avg of Volume. Can this be added?

Currently Nav Pro will only overlay a Study or Formula over the price pane or a new pane. Can you amend this to overlay onto the Volume pane? How about adding a drop-down box called 'Display onto' with the following choices: New pane, Price pane, Vol pane or Existing study pane.

Thanks for offering us a great charting program! Keep up the good work.

Try an MASim on Volume, or Volume Chart plug-in or several of the various pre-configured Volume studies. I bet we have what your looking for already. R

I was sort of able to do it, but there is a problem with scales the way I did it. I found two ways. 1) places a 50 dma over price but select source as volume - Then click on the moving average line and press control you can then drag it down over volume chart 2) create a new formula pane MaSim(Volume,50,D,,) and give it a name ie. vol ma , in the top left of the pane it will say vol ma , click on that, press control and drag it down over volume pane. The problem is that the volume pane uses abrev. for mil. and the source for the moving averages uses all the zeros , I tried to change that under tools menu, format numbers but was unsuccesful so perhaps someone can help with that. Just a fellow trader, hope it helps Gridking

Ross, I tried your suggestions but none work. The real issue here is a bug that makes the MA formula [ MA(V,50,0,D)] display wrong on the Y axis. Its Y axis should begin at zero so that it displays correctly when overlaying regular Vol bars. Instead the Y axis begins with the lowest value (in the 50 day MA range) placed at the zero line on the Y axis. A definite error. Try this. -Add the formula above for a 50 day MA. Set 'Axis display'=left. -Control-drag this formula over a 2nd study of regular Vol bars. -Look at the MA’s Y axis on the left and you can see that it starts well above zero and thus the MA’s axis is out of sync with the Vol bars. Can this be fixed? -rich

Ross, Would you take a look at my comment above. I'd like to know when the Y-axis bug in the Vol MA might be able to be fixed. Without it I cant use Nav Pro. Thx.

The MovAvg (of Vol, not Price) indicator (shown on Vol pane) still has the Y-axis bug. The axis should start at zero, but doesnt, thus it's of no use. Can this be fixed? It seems like such an easy task, you know? Traders like myself who follow the IBD method very much need this.
